Hello,

I'm Danielle from Calgary. I had a male veiled, George. He passed away in may 2009 at the age of 7 and I still miss him. I attached some photos.

I am here to find a new little guy, his name will be Pablo. I hope to be active here, I just found the forum yesterday!

Bye!

Welcome to the forums! George was gorgeous!:) I am so sorry for your loss but you sure gave him a long life. I have two veileds that I am crazy about! Check out the classified section here on the fourms.....tab at the top. You might find some nice veileds there. I know Laurie has some and she's a wonderful mommy and she can drive you one into Canada. Jann

Thanks for the tip, that's sweet of you!

I'm looking for a panther this time however becuase if I were to get another veiled right now, he would be like George #2 and I don't want to compare them!

Welcome, what type of panther do you have your eye on? :)

Welcome to the forum, and well done with George, 7 years is impressive indeed!
Im new to chameleons and my veiled Homer is just on 9 months now, I can only hope to
provide conditions/care suitable for my lizard to live anywhere as long.
Ill be following your post with great intrest, you must have done everything right!
:)

I would say dig around in the classifieds, and check out the site sponsors. You can find some gorgeous choices out there! :)

I contacted JJ reptiles in Calgary and they have some baby ambilobes so I'm gonna go check them out this weekend. Hopefully I find a nice match and if so, I'll add some photos!

I love the classified selections but in Canada, bringing a critter over the border might end up costing too much with all the fees and customs etc.

No she can't. Chamaeleo calyptratus are a CITES II species and needs proper documentation to travel across international borders.

For the last several months there have been several high profile smuggling operations & smugglers caught at various Canadian border stops (mostly in Ontario). Canada Border Services do and are checking for animals.

Sorry Trace. I had read that in one of Laurie's post and thought it was true.

Welcome to this amazing world of cham knowledge and information! So sorry you lost George - he was a handsome chap! I lost my first cham (Lily) in May too. It's really sad, and she too was very people friendly. I did get another veiled and I am lucky that my new baby Amy is turning out to be just like Lily was. Good luck in your search for a new scaley friend - chams are amazing pets! I love mine to bits and wouldn't be without her!:D
