Just ordered the 48x24x24 DIY

After having a complete hissy fit today trying to deal with Optimus' cage and kneeling on the floor to hand feed him goliath worms, my boyfriend gave me the nod to get the better cage with the opening front. If I was smarter and didn't need instant gratification when I bought him, I could have ordered one and then waited but....you know these kids these days and when they want something NOW they gotta get it NOW.

I already got the email that they sent it out today, wow impressive!! I am so excited for it to get here. I have to go find something for it to sit on since my end table now is 6inch too small. I don't think it would be a great idea for it to hang 3 inches off each side huh?

Current cage right now:

See how only the bottom half opens and the very top opens...which is too tall and too low .....SIGH.

Majority of screen cages got a piece of plastic that just sits on the bottom of cage for. Stands with pot sunkens and drainage u
wont use the plastic piece!

I'm about to order 4 cages myself from DIY. You can't beat the price especially since it includes shipping. I used to use LLL but I just saw all the cage prices were raised and then they hit you with the shipping.

That sucks. But don't throw it out.
Make a trip to home depot/Lowes and purchase window screen, spline and the spline tool to rescreen it. It should be no more then 20-30 bucks.

Oh no!!! Yep like BeBoSON said... go to Lowes and get materials.

It might be easier to find a small hardware store that sells aluminum screening and just have them re-screen the bad side. Most of the large stores like Home Depot and such only sell rolls of screening and it's a bit pricey. Also aluminum screen isn't the easiest material to work with if you never have before.

Well....we just duck tapped it and I put the stick on temp/humid gage on there so it worked out.

don't mind the calcium on the leaves....I really hate crickets and I start flinging the shake and bake bag around like a nut

And just to show off my new canister filter that my boyfriend just bought me. I couldn't put it under the stand because it doesn't have holes in the back for the tubes, but I am sad since it's plexi glass the pictures never come out well, but the tank looks stunning now and crystal clear. I am very happy with it.

Duck tape always works, lol. Good stuff. The enclosure looks great, good job.
That fish tank is tight, I've never seen one with connecting tubes.

Thanks, my neighbors gave it to me for free as a gift one day when I came home from marching band practice. I used to petsit their goldfish in it so they just gave it to me! It's custom built, the guys at the local pet shop say it's worth a grand, but I'll never part with it. I love it. When I used to work at petco and tell other fish lovers about it, I had several offers on it without them even seeing it! Crazy right?!

Indeed. Free stuff, is good stuff.

Marching band, concert band and jazz band back in middle/high schhol days. Played/Play Tenor Sax. Ahh memories. Lol.
