Just how low do they hear?

So I'm not sure if there are any audio buffs on here, but how low do they hear? As a producer, and audio engineer, I have to wonder just how much they do hear. One thing my little guy, Louie, really enjoys is when I play Lana Del Rey on vinyl in my room. He always comes to the front of the cage and brightens up all happy-like. Is this because he can hear the music and it triggers a reaction, or is it just a coincidence?

Chameleons have poor "hearing" they don't have an external ear or tympanic membrane but do have an internal fluid filled cochlea and tissue that surrounds it act similar to a tympanic mebrane allowing most species to hear frequencies between 200 and 600 Hz this varies with different species with some have better ranges. They believe chameleons communicate when approaching potential mates and when stressed by producing a low frequency "buzz" (there is the hey baby lets get it on buzz, ok lets do this buzz, and the step off buzz) ok the very last part I made up

I guess it's confirmed Louie likes Lana. Vocals fall partially in that range, which I guess is why it's a thing that talking to your chamy helps with familiarizing yourself with them. Learn something new every day

They don't really "hear" through the air either it's more like vibrations transmitted through branches

Try yelling at your cham and see how it reacts (shouldn't really react at all) then try just tapping (just tiny tap be gentle try not hurt or terrify them) the branch it is on and see that reaction (should see noticeable reaction).

If you're tapping the branch they are sitting on aren't they going to feel it with their feet since the feet are on the branch?
