Hi All,

Just got my first Chameleon. I've been researching them for a few months now and found someone that needed to rid of their four month old veiled female because they found it too much work! Very excited and she seems to be doing great other than getting angry with my when I mist the cage. If anyone has any suggestions about anything I would love to hear from you! Also does anyone know why she would have white around her nostrils?

Hi there welcome to the forum? You have come to the right place to learn about chams. Not many like being misted. Perhaps you could mist around her instead of directly at her. White around the nostrils could be salt deposits which is normal. There is a great blog for veileds, I will try to find link for you. As she is four months you will have to start thinking about a laying bin soon as she may lay infertile eggs, there is a good blog about that too.:)

Hello, welcome to the forum :) How are you misting her? Most Chams don't like it at first, but if you use a pressure pump sprayer like this http://www.google.co.uk/products/ca...a=X&ei=YebmUK3FJrCk0AWw5YCgDQ&ved=0CF8Q8gIwAA for a constant fine spray and use lukewarm water she will probably appreciate it. Start at her tail and slowly work up so it doesn't take her by surprise at all....

The white around the nostrils is probably just salt and totally harmless and normal.
Here is a great basic caresheet especially for Veileds - https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/chameleonsinmyhouse/395-veiled-chameleon-care-sheet.html

Feeding

Thanks everyone for the information. Right not I'm using a spray bottle to mist her. I try not to hit her with the water but she still gets scared. Could be that I just moved her to a new home. As for feeding I'm feeding her 10 crickets a day and I think she would eat more as she gets very excited when I put them in. Thoughts on the amount? I just read the one blog and it said 10-12 I just want to make sure that's enough.
