Just finished New Enclosure.

Just got my first female panther. I made her a 7’ tall by 4’ enclosure with a few umbrella trees and pothos. I am hoping to add some hibiscus flowers as well. She has a fogger going at night and misted 30min before lights on and 30min lights out. I have 2 double T5 HO lights with Arcadia 6% and white plant grow light. She has a lay bin in the bottom left, and there is a drain bin under that connects to pex to drain it. Anyone have any suggestions to improve or change?

Hi and welcome,

She´s a real beauty and she will happy in her new enclosure. Enclosure looks great and it´s now waiting till the pothos grows, try to direct them around the branches, gives a great effect and extra climbing / hiding options for her.

Looks fantastic! I want an update in a few months when the plants grow in. It looks like you've got room in the bottom to replant the plants in some larger pots. I'd do that.

Can you tell me more about your lighting? When you say double T5HO fixtures do these have 2 bulbs running in one fixture and if so are they separated by a divider that drops down in between the bulbs or is it one reflector for both bulbs. Also what material do you have on the top panel?

I would swap out the container your using as a lay bin and do an actual tub. Use moist playsand instead of dirt so it does not collapse when she digs her tunnel to lay.

with a solar meter I am getting 3.2 at her highest branches. It is a organic potting soil and play sand mix.

Perfect this is what I wanted to be sure of. I am very happy you have a solarmeter to double check your distances. Most fixtures like this where the bulbs use one reflector have a reduced output of uvb so I am happy to see yours is working well for you and is a quality reflector. Great job!
