I was just wondering if I could feed my little cham bugs from outside? When the weather starts getting nicer, bugs are everywhere, I just get a little nervous because I'm not sure if that's safe for her. please let me know. Thanks!

You risk parasites more, however I had a vet tell me one time the benefits of feeding wild caught insects far outweigh the risk. That being said as long as your feeders are well gut loaded there is no need to take the risk IMHO. But it's really up to you. Hope I was helpful.

As long as the outside bugs are safe for chameleons and you do regular fecals you should be fine.

Nothing better than outside bugs! Just make sure you collect them from pesticide free areas (although bugs sprayed with pesticides probably won't live long enough for you to catch them) and avoid the few poisonous ones. Grasshoppers, katydids, sticks, mantids, cicadas are great choices.

It wouldn't be all the time, in the summer I get a fly that sneaks in my apartment, so maybe just every now and then, what are the poisonous insects?

I'm not sure what they all would be but I would stay away from things that aren't familiar that you don't know what it is. Don't feed Lady bugs, horn worms that are eating tomato plants, and I wouldn't feed any spiders, ants, centipedes, or bee's to mine as well do to their venom risk.

Moths are also a good feeder for your cham. It can also be a good challenge to catch to.
