Just Closed Ryker's Tail in the Door

Well I just closed the door of the cage on my male Panther's tail. It was mid-way up and I feel like crap for doing it. Was feeding him his thanksgiving hornworms and didn't notice his tail looped over the door bottom, accidentally closing it on him and then freaked out and opened it when I noticed he was struggling and in pain. There is a slight bruise starting but I am worried he will be permanently injured? Any advice?

You might get lucky and his tail will just be bruised. I would just keep an eye on it. If the tissue starts to die, the affected part could fall off on it's own, or need to be removed by the vet if it starts to spread. Hopefully, it'll just be a bruise, and your guy will be fine.

I am hopeful it will just be a bruise, it doesn't look to be getting any worse, we shall see in the next couple of days, ugh waiting sucks.
