josh frogs....

I haven't shopped their for that reason, it's pretty expensive. What type of food are you buying? Josh's frog mainly sells frog food.

Actually I thought their shipping for a live animal to be fairly reasonable. You have to remember that when you are purchasing a live animal, the shipping process is very stressful and should be as short as possible. Most reputable dealers will not ship an animal with anything less that overnight shipping. That even goes for bugs. Most of the suppliers will not guarantee live arrival with anything longer. During anything but the very coldest temps I opt for second day shipping on my crickets and have not had any problem. My last shipment however happened during a very cold snap just before shipping shut down for the holidays and most of the crix were dead:( I guess I will have to spring for overnight next time and just order a bit more. I have very little die off and they last surprisingly well for a long time.

I have looked at their animal shipping but their dry good ones are expensive so I think you should just go for ghans cricket farm.

Yeah those shipping costs do get ya! That is one reason I am trying to raise as many of the feeders as I can myself and really shop around online looking for the best prices.

Just be careful with Ghanns. As it's winter, if your temps are below 25 F at any point during transit, there is no live arrival guarantee even with overnight shipping.

Premium crickets does if you choose winter shipping and overnight. I've never used them though.

I emailed them about my order and temps were below 25 so no guarantee, it does say that however right on the order form but I thought I would give it a shot. I will look into Premium because I like having them come to me rather than shlepping around looking for them. I had to go to two stores today to find small ones:mad:

Iv used premium and was happy with them and drove out to winder,ga and met Alice the owner of that plant. Holy moly crickets. She was nice, gave me samples of their dry gutload.

But Ghans uses the banded crickets which last longer since they are hardier in some owners opinions. She also got a kick out of my ten gallon tank I brought with me with my gutloading station full of veggies, she instagrammed it. So not making this crap up. She has a britsh accent. lol they were excited I was caring good for the crickets.
