My rescued Jelly died and I'm so upset b/c he was doing so good! He was fine this morning and when I came home he was dragging his back legs and straining to poop....constipated. starting soaking him but it didn't help. I'm sure its probably related to his MBD.

Yea, thats tough......especially when they look perfectly fine in the morning and then crash during the day.:(

I am so sorry to hear this sad news. Take comfort in the fact you rescued him (well done) and gave him a chance. You did your best but it was too little too late sadly:(

Sorry to hear, you were doing a great thing! You gotta give it up to those people who do rescue work!

John

If he was dragging his hind legs it sounds like he could have had a clot. I'm sorry to hear that, my cat had a clot in his kidneys last week and we had to put him down.

Sorry for your loss. You and everyone here knows you did your best to keep Jelly alive. These things happen and we can try but when its time, its time:( My condolences to you and Jelly.

Oh i am so sorry you lost him. It`s clear you did everything you could to help him it`s just so sad when they don`t make it. :( RIP Jelly

Thanks everyone. It just sucks!!! He had gained from 55 g to 92 last Friday. He was fiesty and flashing very awesome colors. On his last x-ray he had improvement in his bonesi.I wasn't expecting this!! I was sad this morning when I saw his enclosure which looks amazing b/c his pothos had takin off and very full. I turned the light on for them.

I think I will get another one when I can b/c I already have everything. It will be awhile since I'm so broke and my 2 macaws are at the bird vet getting x-rays and bloodwork!

so sorry about Jelly. I know you loved her. I know how you feel, I lost one of my girls on halloween. I know Jelly must have lived good while she was with you, you sound like a good cham parent.

I'm sorry to hear about Jelly, and glad you're looking to get another. The rescue work is very valuable and appreciated, and I would never detract from it, but maybe this time you can start off with a well-started, healthy one to get the best out of the cham experience.
