I have a jacksons and done my homework on them.but what are your guys's prefrences? What's the 'better' spieces?

There is no answer to this question. Why should our preferences matter? Keep the species you want and that you can provide for the best.

The better species is quite obviously the Panther. I mean look at the average cost of a Panther versus the average cost of a Jackson. Things that cost more are always better.
Not true at all. look at headphones sennheisers are cheap and beats by dre are expensive but are horrible you would buy beats because you think theyre better cause of the price?
anyways it depends on the chameleon whichever you prefer

I cant tell if i should sell my jacksons and get a panther, i can get a bigger encloser etc, but i LOVE my jacksons. Unfortunately, he is in an 18x18x24 inch cage, and now is the perfect opportunity to get a panther!

I started with a jacksons, and they will always have a large place in my heart. After keeping both, I can say that each is different, yet very similar. You will learn different things from keeping both, but you wont learn as much, if you only keep one for a little while, and trade off.
I guess I can understand seeing a panther, and getting excited to have one of your own. There is a reason so many people work with panthers. They are larger, show more vivid color contrast, and are easier to keep. They really arent any different though, they still need the same things jacksons do, just in different amounts.
I think youll regret trading one for the other. If you want a panther, definitely get one, but wait until you can have both.

It is obvious that you haven't understood the finer points of what is better.
Allow me to explain:
If you look to qualify what is better you are comparing with something else by the nature of the term. There are subjective and objective comparisons you can make for any item, person, animal, etc to determine which is better.
For an objective comparison you would have to in almost every case qualify "better" with the metric / attribute you are comparing and at the same time qualify which attribute is better and why and to whom. For instance the Dre headphones are cheaper to manufacture, demand a higher price due to the endorsement of a popular artist, and as such have a much greater sales margin. These are clearly better to manufacture and sell as you will make a lot more money!
A subjective comparison is of course up to the individual and wholly a matter of taste.
Now if we are not qualifying better with a specific attribute and someone is asking what is better how do you respond?
In this instance I assumed they were not asking for a subjective opinion (probably incorrectly) and while searching for an objective way to differentiate the two species I decided that the free market would be a good indicator. The free market will give an overview of subjective taste in a moderately objective way. Voila! An answer is getting close.
So I decided that if people are willing to pay more for Panther chameleons in general more people associate a higher value with them. If more people associate a higher value more have made the subjective (possibly objective) decision they are "better".
Price is always a good key indicator as to what is generally perceived as better in general. So at least subjectively to the masses price does indicate what is better.
I prefer objective research and personal taste to determine what is better myself.
If you love your Jackson's why would you contemplate selling it for another chameleon? I feel sorry for any mate you ever fall in love with. Will you always be contemplating trading for something that might be better or simply enjoy what you love?
My smartassness aside everyone else here is right, what is better is a completely personal choice. Go with what you love and you will be happy!

We have both, and absotively posilutely LOVE both of them!!!!!
The panthers have their own "likeable" attributes as do the jacksons.
One thing though - you never know until you have your own. Each cham is different with their own personalities. We have a female panther that is completely 180 degrees from what "the books" say she should be. She does nothing "normal", and is the most friendly loveable panther you could ever meet.
My 2 cents - keep the jackson and get a panther. Keep them both and enjoy them.
