will a newly homed jackson's chameleon be stressed and have dark colors for a few days?

I have never heard of the formation of horns causing a color change? Would tend to think it would be from a move/lighting change etc. could be the age maybe, I would try to reach out to other young owners.
No you misread his post. He said "newly homed" not "newly horned". He means that he just put his chameleon into a new home.

my male xanth randomly shows some darks spots mainly on the top of his back.
when i saw him at the pet store he was very green/yellow and a little bit of blue, looked reallly cool, on the way home and when puting him in his new enclosure he did not have any dark colors or spots anywhere, stayed the same color from when we first boght him.
he started showing dark colors about a month after we got him, i would randomly check on him and he would have dark spots on his back and he wasnt even under his basking light to maybe think he could be hot or somthing. i sure he wasnt cold either.
i think its just the mood they are in, just like us, when we get mad most of us get red.

How old is the Jackson? Babies stay brown or brown with white markings. When Monty was smaller he would always be brown and would go a nice green when I took him out of his viv. Now he is 8 months old and is green all the time. If your cham was previously green and you have just put him into a different cage, then he may take a while to settle in.
