Can a male and female (a pair) of Jackson's Chameleons be housed together other than for the purpose of mating?

it would be sketchy but possible... u would have to watch for any agrression from the male ..and make sure they are not stressing out..plenty of foliage and cover to keep them distraced from the fact tht they are housed together:D:D

To be safe I say no. Only if you are home most of the day and you are totally obsessed with monitoring your chameleons.

If I end up getting a pair, I think I will just keep them separate, sounds a lot safer and easier. I work a lot of double shifts so a lot could go on why I was not at home. Maybe a divided cage with a solid divider then. Thanks for the answers.

Sounds like a good plan, but yes a big cage with a divider would work fine as well. I have a few of those right now! Good luck with your Jacksons, they are great lil guys!
