Jackson scratching and clawing at the bottom of the cage

I do have a hybrid mesh and glass tank and my jackson keeps going to the bottom of the cage and trying to get through the glass. Ill add pics? Add more to his cage? His humidity is 75% and the temp is about 70.
and now opening his mouth while i write this? He isn't eating very much either. Maybe a few crickets a day or a superworm if he won't eat. He also had a headish/neck shed and one of his feet but haven't seen anything more. I mist 2-4 times daily and made my own diy dripper. He doesn't seem to like his horns. Any help. :\

How are you measuring the temps? What is the basking spot like? An open mouth and staying near the bottom usually suggests that it is too warm for the animal.

The cage could use some more foliage and some more branches/vines as pathways for him to climb on.

Thermometer and humidity meters both generic gauges nothing fancy. Basking point is 80 using red infrared lamp for basking. Since he doesn't need that much heat for basking. I do need to get more foliage and branches. But the room may have been too warm and he may have had visual of greenery from my window. Will definitely get on the foliage.

By the way pssh. You're the best, all I see is your responses for other people And I think, you obviously got that cham award of the month! Thank you for the response. Anything more I should know?

Thank you :)

Is it digital? The analog ones can be really off (by as much as 10 degrees.) I would also try to get a normal incandescent bulb (like for a houselamp) for his basking spot. Chameleons can see the red and dont recognise it as a heat source the same way they would with a white bulb (it looks more like natural sunlight.) The normal household bulbs can usually be found for less than a dollar each, which saves you a TON of money over the "special" reptile ones. You can both benefit from it.

They are analog but I didn't go digital cause petco(where I was looking for temp and humidity at the time.) had a digital one that didn't seem to be a reliable one so I didn't get it. Any suggestions on reasonably priced thermometers and or humidity meter.

You can usually get a combo digital one for about $10 at a home improvement store or in the garden section of other stores.

Hey there!

I agree with Pssh - you should add more foliage and more sticks for climbing, it might be just that.

My veiled used to do the same thing at some point. Back then he lived in a huge, well planted terrarium with plenty of climbing space. Nevertheless, for a period of time he used to go down to one of the bottom corners and scratch and claw as if he wanted desperately to get out. It started in late spring, when sun started hitting his terrarium, exactly that corner. I think he could distinguish sun-light from his regular light-and-UVB bulbs and that was why he went there :) He was completely fine, ate and pooped, and otherwise behaved normally. If I came and opened the terrarium he would just gape at me, but showed no interest in climbing out. It stressed me out, I must admit, but then at some point he just stopped doing it and I have never seen that kind of behavior since.

If he seems fine otherwise, I say get him more sticks and foliage and observe for a while, see how it goes.

In regards to his shed - how old is he? Once they get older, they tend to shed in pieces, like only the tail, or only the head, no full-body sheds :)
