Jackson or A Veiled?

I would do a veiled...they are much heartier and much easier to achieve the humidity they need.

Its personal preference about the enclosure, I have one large Reptarium I keep set up as a part time enclosure for out door sunning or temporary housing for a new arrival or cleanings. However I prefer to build my own because you are able to incorporate everything you need, including, lighting drainage and watering systems.
In my experience the easiest thing to do is buy a cheap used dresser or cabinet, remove the back and doors/shelves, and add some screening. Then you can add in your drainage and lighting. My suggestion is to just get creative, make it look and feel exactly the way you want. The enclosure is part of the animal and should look just as good as the animal it self.

yes i have tool and everthing, i guess i can worry about getting the cham for another time(soon hopefully)
i think i could make it out of melamine and screening with a deceent draining sytem. I dont see how building this could be more then like 50$ a few peices of melamine some screen. Some of the plastic fencing stuff to keep them of the screen etc
any other ideas on this?

Where do you live?
Jacksons thrive in year-round high humid but cooler temps such as the Upper Northwest like Seattle or Oregon. If you live in places like Arizona or Southern CA, you would have to do constant misting to provide that high humidy range and make sure that there is enough shaded plants in your cage so that it doesn't get overly heated from the spot light or natural sun hitting the cage.
Veils, on the other hand, benefit from humidity but can tolerate much more drier and higher temps. It's true that for a novice, I would also recommend you still getting a Veil because they are much more tolerant to extreme temps and humid changes.

well i live in RI, so it gets humid but its becoming winter so im not sure wich is best. I like jacksons but humidity would be a problem,panthers are very very expensive + if something happens and it died i would be so pissed,i like female veileds because of there green color and they from some of the posts i read they seem to be a tad more social then males,when i mean social i mean theres a chance it wont try and take of my finger. There kool but i read problems with egg binding and such so im not so sure. Maybe somone can recommend something on this page http://www.flchams.com/other_chameleons.asp. I am willing to give the best care for whatever i may get. Maybe a female giant fishchers cham?.There pretty neat if u ask me. Any ideas?
