hey everyone, well my Jackson cham is now big enough where he is eating med sized crickets and some large sized crickets pretty easily (sometimes). he is about 3 inches long without the tail. What else can i feed him? or should i stick to crickets till he is bigger He will not eat superworms for some reason almost affraid of them. also, what is good for him, what would be a treat for him?(I thought wax worms) not sure need some help. all websites say something diff?

thats the thing about jax, some can be picky eaters, waxworms are high in fat and should only be fed in moderation, as an occasional treat, if you want something jax is guarunteed to go nuts over, get him some cultured house or blue bottle flies from http://www.mantisplace.com/ you can get 500 ready to hatch pupae for under $10 delivered. even the pickiest of chams (jax included) uasually get all exited over flies

I would also go for some silkworms and or goliath worms. Try the supers again but this time put them on the side for the cage and let them climb up. That always seems to be the breaking point for chams and they usually give in and eat them.

I believe you are doing him well to keep him on the crix, until he is comfortable with more on the menu. You're probably already feeding your crickets well so he in turn is getting substaintial nutrients. If you think you need a recepe for cricket food, PM us.

Keep offering other insects and he'll feed when he's ready. But don't feel as though you're doing anything wrong when he rejects other feeders. He'll let you know when he's ready. Just stick to offering him other goodies and he'll come around. :)
