Iv got Frita in her egg laying bin for the evening. I got a big garbage can and filled it with moist playsand. I tested a tunnel to make sure it wouldn't collapse. I hope she lays them soon. We caught her eggs pretty early. They were still soft. But I can tell they hardened because now I can see them poking out. She went to the bottom of her enclosure today and sat, so I set it all and waited till 5pm to put her in. Wish her luck. If I don't get eggs in the next two days it's back to vet for another X-ray and oxytocin.
 
What do you mean you caught the eggs early, they were soft? Like, in an x-ray?

Eggs aren't like cancer, where the earlier you treat it the better. She's only going to lay them when the eggs are ready to go, and she'll know when that is. Female chameleons have been doing this for thousands and thousands of years, trust that the majority of time they know what to do as long as what they need is provided.

I've leave her there and see what she does today.
 
Yes olimpia, I will upload her X-ray as soon as I get home. She was newly gravid. They eggs could not be felt by palpitating her stomach because they were not done forming. We could see from her x ray they had not gone into the bottom half where they go when they are ready to be laid, and he said oxytocin could help in this, but the vet is 2 hours away and I'm worried to disturb her is she just isn't ready yet. But I will take her if you guys think I should. She is now refusing food (3days). But still drinking. She is restless, roaming the cage a lot and will go to the bottom branches and stare at the dirt. She can lay her fig tree or another bin I have in there, plus I have the new garbage can with 50 pounds of play sand in it that is moist.

Dr.Wilson said she should be ready by Monday, so I was going off his suggestion, but she was black with bright yellow markings yesterday. Iv never seen her like that and spots. All over, even her head. It is just scaring me. Iove her, but will try again and keep you guys posted.
 





Sorry I just got around to posting this. But this was taken on the 18th. The eggs were still kind of soft because we couldnt feel them pressing on her belly or see them really poking out or bulging. She just looked fatter than normal. The white mineral on the xray was calcisand from her egg laying bin (we think), she passed it a few days ago, it looked like a sandy cham turd.

She still has not laid, tonight I will try again, she did however eat a lot yesterday and drink a lot. She is not sleeping or doing anything overly weird, she will stare at her egg laying bin in her enclosure. That is about it, I can see the eggs poking now around her hip bones. If I dont have eggs by Monday, I am contemplating taking her to the vet. :(
 
My 2 cents. Seems like I am always giving my opinion on your posts.:)

I would just leave her alone. Your more likely to cause egg binding than prevent it. If she was my chameleon, from what you posted, I would not even be concerned.

I know you have had some bad luck with chameleons lately, but you just have to let nature take its course.

I don't have any idea how your vet could predict a day she would lay by.

He gave a rough estimate more than a prediction. He based it off of where the eggs were in the whole process.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. I'm just scared of losing her.
