is it beter to give out meal worms after molting i know the biggest reason for not feeding meals is impaction... so it seems youd eliminate that by feeding softer bodied ones....? was just thinking... what do the experts think?

I've heard that too. It does make some sense I suppose. Before the shell of the mealworm has time to harden it might be easier to digest. I certainly wait for white ones when feeding giant mealworms to my chams but it's not really possible with normal mealworms so I just don't feed those too often. I should add I'm actually new to the hobby aswell..... :)

no no hunger strike would just like to keep from impaction. i noticed i had quite a few soft ones so he got like 3 but i was wreally jus wandering if it would eleminate impaction.
thanks for your insight feebo.

If thats all, then yes of course
you can feed the molted ones.
and the ones that havent motled, just feed them off less. :)

Yes, they are better to feed when newly moulted. Both my chams love them and I try to only feed the newly moulted ones. They harden up again quite fast though, but yes, it is the tough skin (chitin) that is hard for chams to adjust when eaten in large quantities. As always a variety of different feeders is better for the chameleon.

thanks yall!! one last thought charlotte my beardie loves the beatle larvea alot! whats the chiten like in that????
