Ok thank you so much!!!I would get the play sand.
The bin should be inside the cage. She'll lay when she's ready. You can't disturb her during this process.Ok I finished the laying bin and put about 9 inches of sand in a container and when I put Lizzie in there she COMPLETELY flipped out she was running all over the place, turned dark, and tried to climb out of it. I took her out, calmed her down, and put her back in there and she did it again. I don't want to scare her so what do I do?
The only problem with that is the fact that there is a side door on the cage as a piece of screen on the right side. What should I do about that? The bin should be inside the cage. She'll lay when she's ready. You can't disturb her during this process.
Could you show us a pic so we can see what you are talking about. The only problem with that is the fact that there is a side door on the cage as a piece of screen on the right side. What should I do about that?
Ok thank toiShe needs to have access to the bin with privacy over a period of days, in my experience they will often dig "test" holes first. I'm not sure the purpose could be a decoy for predators or a result of the captivity as laying in a bin of sand is very different then digging through the forest floor. Either way the panthers I have all do this, they dig a big hole don't lay in it the first day, then overnight or the next day dig another hole or a side tunnel off the big one and lay in that. The first one that dug overnight really confused me by covering up the test hole too, I dug out half the bin no eggs anywhere off the tunnel thought I was crazy so started taking all the medium out and she had laid right against the front of the enclosure only about 5 inches deep. Sneaky sneaky.
you not toi.sorry autocorrectOk thank toi
