Is this okay?

So I just recently signed up to the forums (thank you everyone for such warm welcomes )

I went to a friends house today. And I noticed he did something to his cage, he split it so that his male and female could live in the same cage but not see eachother. I recommended to him that he get some real plants on the floor but other than that the lighting seemed pretty good (But I wouldn't know) and I checked out both the chams before we took them free ranging and neither of them seem too stressed. Is this a bad idea? His chams are so beautiful i'd hate to see either of them end up in a bad position also he loves them so much as well. Here's a pic. But also i'm fairly new to the world of chameleons so I wouldn't know much.

How is the separation setup like?

can they see each other?

Are they Male and Male?

I have heard of other forum members doing the same thing so that way come mating time they can remove the divider. I can't see the picture but I would make sure they both had adequate space

Ah sorry i'll try and get it up. But it's seperated by what looked like a pillow case or very small bedsheet. He had the corners pinned by paper clips, it was solid so they couldn't see each other. It's a male and a female.

Well I have 4 24x24x48 cages so I never thought about splitting 1 cage for 2 reptiles I keep them all seperate and I make sure they can't see each other.

For maybe 99 Dollars he could get another cage and probably 155$ he could get a kit from tikitikireptiles or reptmart and maybe a few other of our sponsor sites and get everything you need for the other to be in their own homes. Without giving them less room to move around.

kit including cage, lighting, bulbs, vines, branches, (possible live plant) (tikitiki offers that). You could go to FLchams.com and see Mikes kits maybe call him and see if he can do any deals if you are located in florida / Local or even being a friendly new customer.

That sounds perfect! We both happen to take place in Hawaii at the moment but i'll defenitely tell him about the starter kit from tikitikireptiles. Much appreciated i'll check it out as well myself to see if i'm interested, might get another soon anyhow.
