Is this ok?

As long as its a smaller grain of vermiculite and theres no fertilizers or other chemicals in it you should be fine. Good luck!

I would try and find the larger grain vermiculite. Myself and many others have had issues with the "sand grain" stuff.

Most people prefer coarse grain, not fine grain. Is it fairly large looking and not sandy looking?

How can you tell it's sand grain? I can't read that on the bag but it said on the bag 100% vermiculite. Will this kind work? I'm confused

It will work just fine but can dry unevenly sometimes causing a problem. You should just get a bag of hatchright. That is a no brainer. Already wet and everything.

Either way you would be ok.

Yes, that will work fine!!! The fine grain just tends to resemble sand a little more, and it has smaller grains. I have had success w/ the exact stuff you bought. However, from here on out I am just going to use hatchrite because it take all the guess work out of things. Currently, I have 10 clutches in vermiculite, and 1 in sphagnum moss for an experiment. I ordered hatchrite so from now on that will be all I use. Good luck and take care!

I have done the same thing. I used everything you could think of. So far I have not had any problems, but I do like the convenience of hatchright.

Just in case anyone was curious.
hatchright = perlite and water crystals.
