Hey,

was just wondering if any body could help me quick, Mr goggles my baby Ambanja panther chameleon is 3 months old tomorrow and after looking at the care sheets he's supposed to be eating around 10-12 crickets but Mr Goggles basically only eats about 5-6 and then he's done :S

I've had him for 2 weeks and 2 days and only once out of having him he's managed to eat like 10 or so but his mainly only eating on average 6 a day. Today I gave him 3 mealsworms, 1 waxworm and he eat 2 medium locusts himself then after that he was basically done is this ok? for his age or should he be eating more? just a little worried, probably nothing to be worried about at all but just seeing what you guys thought? :)

P.S: Also as well I try not to give him the mealworms/waxworms so often, especially the mealworms because he flipping loves these things :p but his main food source is crickets and locusts.

Thanks! :)

Well it depends on the size of your crickets. Obviously if they are a little bigger, then he will eat less. I had the same thing with my little one. He has never been a big eater from day one. I don't think there was a day that he at more then 10 crickets. My other chameleon I had as a baby would eat like 25! The guy have now is kinda on the small side for a year old and I think it might be his lack of eating not as much as I would like. He is super healthy, but just on the small side. I am assuming they do not get that lucky in the wild to eat 25-30 feeders a day but I could be wrong also! As long as he is healthy and growing, I would not worry.

Thanks for the replies was just making sure thats all :) he is eating medium crickets and locusts there roughly about an inch long maybe little bit smaller on some of them :)

Mediums are fairly sizeable for his age so even 5 or 6 of those is a fair meal isn't it. My panther is the same. Not a huge consumer
