Is this normal?

I have had my veiled chameleon for 2 weeks now and he is eating and drinking well, he is 8 weeks old. when i open his cage he climbs on my hand and then sits on my shoulder which is fine, but he doesnt like to go back in he hisses and trys to go back to my shoulder. his cage is 60x60x60 with lots of branches and plants. once i have got him in he is fine he goes a nice green colour and has a wonder round the cage, but now its every time i go to feed him he wants to come out. is this normal or could there be something wrong inside. Any one have any ideas?

Well hes still young and may change his feelings about you. Is his cage propped up on a table...if not i would do that...they prefer to be up rather than having the cage on the floor.Also do you mean the cage is 60inches cause thats huge for a baby.

How high up from the floor did you put the cage?
If the top of the cage is less than, say, 5 ft off the floor your cham may not feel very comfortable in there. They don't like to look up at us humans.

the cage is up high same level as me. the tank is big but has alot of plant etc. just wanted to make sure there was nothing wrong with him. im sure in a few weeks he wont like me lol. thank you for your advice.

kristytia...Its well within the normal range of behaviors for a baby veiled chameleon.
