Is this mating behaviour?

Hi I am new to this forum and have recently adopted a male veiled chameleon. I have brought him a new enclosure with proper lighting and a waterfall and I mist him regularly and he seems really happy.

I have only had him just over a week, but the last few times he has asked to come out of his enclosure and climb on me, he suddenly grips really tightly to my hand - not because he feels he is going to fall off - and then rubs himself vigirously against my hand. It's not the slow action like when he is rubbing the dead skin off his head etc against a branch - and I was wondering if this is mating behaviour and how I can stop it! He is about 3 years old and his previous owner says he hasn't done it with him before.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

His butt! I think he is trying to mate with my hand - I found some really old posts on here & some people have experienced the same & there are some hilarious stories about mating with gloves etc!

Thanks for your help & if anyone has any tips (other than getting him a gf!) please let me know! :)
