Is there a cure for OCD (Obsessive Chameleon Disorder)???

Last weekend and the NE show I purchased a little female Jackson's Cham...She is a Red Phased Jackson's and always wanted a red phase to breed with my male Jackson's Triton. So I went to the show and promised myself that I would not buy any more animals and would look for deals on lighting and feeders. Next thing I know I purchased the cham, new reptibreeze, supplies and plants to the tune of $200.00 which I couldn't afford...but I just had to have her

Now, I don't know about all of you but the recession has hit pretty hard up here in Maine and I've given up a lot in order to afford my chams. For instance I haven't been clothes shopping in almost a year. If it comes to buying food for myself or my chams...the chams come first..LOL:) I've given up cable and have probably listened to John Tesh on the radio more then I'd care to admit. And I've forgotten what a vacation is :p

I'm just wondering what the rest of you have given up to afford your chams..cause I know I can't be the only one..LOL!!! :):D:p

Congtats on the new addition. I'd love to see some pictures. I had some baby Jacksons that were showing a lot of red but have now turned green. How old do you think it is?

Thank you!!! I'm very excited about her. I think she's about 4 mos old. I named her Rosie. She's got a fair amount of red on her. She's a little on the dark side now...little stressed in her new home, but as soon as she calms don a bit I'll take some pics :)

I'm sorry, your diagnosis does not look good, it wil get worse and worse, and the only way to stop the urges is one thing........get a new cham:p
But that will only last a few weeks before thinking about a new one:p.....

i saved up all my money from previous birthdays to get the supplies and do well in school for my parents to help me purchase my panther:rolleyes:

The cure? Blindfold yourself when walking by anything that reminds you of reptiles. This includes the sun (UVB), insects of any kind (feeders), the internet (forums)... ah, who am I kidding? The cure for everything is a baseball bat and the ability to run really fast... wait a second..

I've never owned a baseball bat...I suppose I can always buy one...but I'd rather get something for the chams...maybe a blind fold would work but I have a feeling I would peek...so much for those ideas :p

I know...two chams just isn't enough!! I can't wait for my new little female grows up so I can breed them and get some baby Jackson's. But that's going to be a really long time until she matures..so what am I going to do in the meantime???? There's just soooo many chams and sooo little time!!! :p:)

TRY HARDER! Your life depends upon it! :D

Sell your eyes on the black market, or something.

My cure or atleast temporary.....

My cure or should I say supression of symptoms is having a Husband that says NO MORE!
OK... so I must admit it doesn't do much for the symptoms themselves the wanting and cravings are still there and they make me CraZY! But... wait... um, well It does stop the outcome that is generally bought on by the symptoms... "the purchase!"
Maybe I should sell my Husband??? (Any takers?)
:D

For me the cure was just getting my 5th and last cham. I don't know why, but after months of looking for the last one ("just one more!"), when I finally got him, that was it for me lol I've reached my quota and I'm happy with who I have. Besides, now that I only free range, I can't have any more because I wouldn't know where to put them! :D

It still hurts a little when someone sends me photos of a baby they think I should buy from them or they want me to adopt! lol But I just have to stay strong and say no, and 10 minutes later I've forgotten all about it.
