Is oil paint toxic for chameleons

Hi I just wanted some opinions on if its safe to paint in the same room with a chameleon?. Im an artist and I wanted to use my oil paints (on an canvas), but I share my room with my chameleon and I'm not sure if it'll be too toxic. I have an ac and a fan and I would paint across the room ( 10-12 feet away) but will that just cause the fumes to move towards it or is it bad idea overall. I just want to make sure that he doesn't get sick but I really would like to paint in the comfort of my own space. Any opinions pls

With oils, the concern is VOCs. Chameleons have very simple lungs that may be even more sensitive to VOCs than our lungs. If you can smell anything (fumes) in the room (paint, turp, spirits, etc.) I wouldn't chance it.

Unfortunately, in this case, IDT acrylics would solve the problem.
do acrylic paints have vocs?
