Is my 6-7 month old veiled chameleon named, Jade ready to produce eggs? I know they can produce eggs without a mate. She is showing spots of dark purple on her sides, the purple coloring is inside her yellow spots. does that mean she can start producing eggs or she is already gravid? please post answer.

Thanks all!:)

could mean a few things... if you house her near males she might catch sight of them and start producing unfertilized eggs.. generally i wait until they are almost a year old to breed.. breeding a chameleon young can be bad for their health. Is it possible she came in contact with a male? And can you be mistaking the coloring for her being uncomfortable?

A picture to know for sure, but your desription sounds gravid not receptive to me......get a laying bin at that age anyway, and be prepared with a big laying trashcan just in case she doesn't like your bin..........

She is my only cham, I do have a leopard gecko next to her cage but I dont know the sex of it.

And also her coloring has been like that, i know she isnt stressed because the coloring is nowhere else but that area.
