my female yemen has been going down to the bottom of her cage couple of times a week for a few weeks now so i dont know if she is trying to lay eggs , she goes really dark she stays there for around 10 mins then goes back to the top and is fine , she is 19mths old. i dont have a nesting box there at the mo so what exactly do i need for one ? i want to get it sorted today.
thanks

here is a link for you https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/jannb/345-egg-laying-laying-bin.html You might want to post a picture and members can tell you if she is gravid or not. Even if she isn't she can become gravid at any time so you should always have a laying bin in there. Jann B's blog talks about using a large trash can and placing the chameleon out of the cage into that to lay eggs but you can also use a 12in X 12in(atleast) container that can be placed in the cage which she talks about also..

Get her a laying bin NOW. She only has a certain amount of time to lay the eggs until she become egg bound.

I agree - you should provide somewhere for her to lay as a priority. I will also add that my female occasionally goes to the bottom and hides behind her plant pot for several hours. She just sits there and goes very dark and feels very cold. My first female did that too, and they always come out again and go back to the top like nothing is wrong! My girl (as did my first female) has a laying tub that she has used in the past - she knows where it is and only pays it any attention when she needs to use it.
