I don't know whether to be worried or excited. One of my eggs started to crack. It is not sweating yet, but the egg shell is thinning. Do all egg sweat before hatching? Here is a picture of what i am talking about.

it is not sweating, it just got a little water on it. Do you agree with the 2-3 days? Also have you had a egg not sweat before hatching? And thanks for your replies i appreciate it.
it looks to me the egg is "shedding" its shell. I have had eggs do this before...
eggs will sweat on their own without you adding water to them right before they hatch
If you have a small pen light you can try candling the eggs to see if they are ready to hatch

i candle the eggs once a month to see there progress, from what i can see and according to your blog they are ready to hatch soon.
Looks like over moisture.Seems to me your over spraying.Your drowning the eggs.
Ya haveta be careful about addin water or getting water on them when there that far along... it can cause them to start hatching early before they are ready.. ive had em sweat fast an slow but they always have sweat. addin that much water may start them hatching
thanks for telling me this, i know to much water is bad, but i was thinking that the medium was kind of on the dry side and i guess i over did it.
Now i am worried that they will hatch prematurely and not survive. There is not a whole lot i can do now but wait and hope that thy are going to make it.
Again thanks for the replies.![]()
I wouldnt candle them either. Maybe one but only make it one you do every time. This can also ruin a good hatch for you along with spraying the eggs directly. What I do if the medium is to dry is get a syringe, put water in it and inject the water at the bottom of the container so it soaks up without having to put water on or directly beside the eggs. Do a few syringes and wait a day or two then check again. Add more if needed but its best to do it slow. Its easier to save them if to dry but not if you get too much water in the container.
I have a clutch of mitsio eggs that are 10 months incubated and they are drivin me nuts waiting lol havent candled them nor will i but holy man this is the longest wait ever so ya just be patient it will happen.
