is my chameleon sick?

We recently got our chameleon back from my mother in law who was watching her for a bit. For the past few days, she has been acting kindof funny. Her movements are very lethargic, her legs hang off branches and she rests her stomach on the branch, and she does not hiss, change color, or puff up her abdomen (which she usually does- a feisty one) when we put our hand in the cage. When we put in a stick for her to climb on, she barely flinches, and one time she fell off a branch today. He abdomen looks large as well as she is on the ground sometimes and swaying her head back and forth. She is bright pastel in colors now, but is not really turning her darker aggressive colors when we enter her space. She has some grey circles on her skin. Sometimes her eyes are closed during the day. She has started laying eggs a few months ago, but my mother in law did not note any of this behavior when laying eggs.

Any clues? We are thinking she may be cold?

That doesn't sound right to me.

Please attach some pictures of her as well as the enclosure, and also I recommend making a vet visit really. That sounds off.

Well, you say she started laying eggs a few months ago, her exact age would be helpful. Along with species. She could be egg-bound, or not able to lay eggs, when did she last lay? Check her eyes and casque to see if they're sunken. If so, she is severely dehydrated. Could also be clogging, or constipation. Check for recent feces deposit in her cage.

She could have egg bound ovulation I believe that's what it's called which is rare, but it happends. It's when the female begins to ovulate and then she cannot finnish ovulating as the eggs get stuck inside her because their isn't enough calcium for the eggs to form completely. This caused usually by calcium deficiency. I've heard a case about this one time.

But you won't know until you see a vet.

pictures will help ... but I would get her to the vet if she is not having the coordination to say on her branches.
