is my Cham old????

how do you know your cham is getting really old or might soon pass away? I notice my cham too miss a lot when he shots for prey( failing eye sight), his grip is very weak and he is constantly falling. I've had him for about six years now.

Hi! Six years is pretty old for a chameleon! So yes, he sounds like he is getting on a bit. If I was you I would maybe take him for a check up at the vets, just to see if there is anything you can do to help him get a bit stronger. Also if he keeps falling you may want to consider rearranging his enclosure singe either doesn't have far to fall or he has something soft to land on.

He's definitely getting up in years. As Angie says, you might want to switch his cage to horizontal and cover the floor with something soft like towels you can wash. That way, should he fall, he won't fall far.

I think we'd all like to see a picture!
