Is My Cham Full? Also need help with Cricket Size

I ordered 1,000 1/4 crickets online and when I saw them they seemed smaller more like 1/8.

My panther cham is 3 months old and he eats them no prob but I also give him crickets that are around 1/2inch big and he seems to eat them no problem. Should I just keep giving him these small ones or let them grow and just buy bigger ones at the pet store?

Also there are about 5-8 crickets on the walls of his cage, he can clearly see them but he just continues to bask does this mean hes full and I should give him less?

I would give him the smaller size just so that he eats more of them, meaning he has to hunt for more keeping himself active.

If he isn't eating anymore, chances are he's full. Just make sure they don't stay in overnight. Sometimes they bite your cham and the bite can get infected.

I agree with Pilotman... if he is not eating any more of them he's probably full. And when it comes to size bigger isn't always better.. They shouldn't be any larger than the distance between ur chameleons eyes. Just because he CAN eat bigger doesn't necessarily mean he should. He could choke if they are too big. I'd rather be safe than sorry. Not to mention those small crickets will grow in no time!

With the eye distance gauge is that with the cricket horizontal or vertical?

You can go by the width of the insect, not the length.
I feed mine large crickets though, but fewer because mine are adults. My reasoning is that there is more meat to shell ratio on larger insects. The larger the creature the less its surface area.

yeah im with olimpia. its about mainly width. the width should be know more than the distance between the chameleons eyes. the length should be no more than 1/3 of the chameleons body even tho some people say 1/2 i'd say go 1/3 just to be safe. make sure you feed your crickets a very good gutload to ensure that your cham gets the added bonus.
