Is it weird my chameleon likes to cuddle

My Veiled chameleon does the same thing!! As soon as I put him in the hand towel he lays on his side and closes his eyes. The rest of the day he is climbing around like normal and eating well. I actually have a vet appointment this Wednesday for a small wound checkup on him. I will ask him these questions and put it in here when I get the answers

Hi and welcome. I haven’t read the thread - only the posts since your initial one. Please do not take any offense to what I am about to say, as I don’t mean any. Nor should you think I have anything but good intentions. I am wanting to help both you and your chameleon.
While there are exceptions to every rule, I can say with absolute certainty that your chameleon is not cuddling. Adult veiled chameleons are the least ‘friendly’ of chameleons afaik. They do not like being handled and the vast majority will not willingly come out to us. Usually when they are willingly coming out to us from their enclosure, it is because they are not happy with their enclosure - it’s too small, not enough plants, branches or some other reason. Some may come out if they think or see that we have food for them. Once they do come out and are on our hands, they are not happy. Some may try to get away while others will stand totally still in the hopes that we don’t see them and forget about them. When they close their eyes while being held (regardless of how they are held), it usually means they have exceeded their limits of stress and are closing their eyes in surrender and just waiting to be eaten. I am going to guess that this is the very last thing you would ever do to your guy, but I’m also guessing that you haven’t had any idea about it. I’m so sorry to be the one to burst that bubble.

Chameleon Info:

• Your Chameleon - The species, sex, and age of your chameleon. How long has it been in your care?
• Handling - How often do you handle your chameleon?
• Feeding - What are you feeding your cham? What amount? What is the schedule? How are you gut-loading your feeders?
• Supplements - What brand and type of calcium and vitamin products are you dusting your feeders with and what is the schedule?
• Watering - What kind of watering technique do you use? How often and how long to you mist? Do you see your chameleon drinking?
• Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites?
• History - Any previous information about your cham that might be useful to others when trying to help you.

Cage Info:

• Cage Type - Describe your cage (Glass, Screen, Combo?) What are the dimensions?
• Lighting - What brand, model, and types of lighting are you using? What is your daily lighting schedule?
• Temperature - What temp range have you created (cage floor to basking spot)? Lowest overnight temp? How do you measure these temps?
• Humidity - What are your humidity levels? How are you creating and maintaining these levels? What do you use to measure humidity?
• Plants - Are you using live plants? If so, what kind?
• Placement - Where is your cage located? Is it near any fans, air vents, or high traffic areas? At what height is the top of the cage relative to your room floor?
• Location - Where are you geographically located?
