Is a violet colored plant okay to use as a basking bulb for chameleons?

Aren't these lights usually LED? so would radiate only a little heat so not be very good for basking...

You should also not use colored light for your chameleon, not sure if it's an issue if you keep it running next to your regular lighting.

For plant growth the Jungle Dawn lights from Arcadia are recommended, they cost a buck but people are really enthusiastic about them.

The actual name of the product would really help us answer you question. Pics of the box and light would be even better. Since the color of the light is violet my immediate reaction is to agree with Remkon. Most colored plant lighting now a days is almost always LED. LEDs burn far too cool to produce any useable heat for your cham.
