Investigating safe moths ?? safe?

Idk, I've usually completely disregarded moths with any interesting coloring like that. Especially reds, blues, and I guess purple now. Did not know there were purple moths honestly. Don't take my word for it though, I'm sure someone on the forums knows more about moths than me

That is a Rosy Maple Moth, Dryocampa rubicunda. The host plant for the caterpillar is oak and maple trees. It should be a safe choice as a snack.

Thanks so much ! He stayed in my porch for a couple days so I figured if he was staying he was going to be eaten !!!
