Hey guys! It's me again. After the passing of my sick chameleons, my boyfriend felt awful (it really was a nightmare for me) he went down to Petco and got me a new one. Meet Camo the veiled Chameleon! I am very happy with him so far. No issues yet, he was eating the very first day- 7 crickets! And 8 the next day! (Unlike my first) I am not sure how old he is or how to tell. But I want to make sure this one stays as happy and healthy as can be!! How's he look??

Thank you alphakenc! I've always wanted a chameleon so I'm not gonna let one bad experience bring me down! I did rearrange the cage like was suggested before and also added a dripper

Your more than welcome when u get a chance,u can also add some horizontal brances or vine cross the middle area of ur cage so ur cham can have something to walk thru,look in the forum source tab,with the veiled chameleon care sheet,it will give u some general guidelines to take care of ur baby.

Dont be sorry ,ur pictures is better than mine in any given days.
If u can find some branches in ur yard,u can use them to decorate ur new baby cham's cage,puttng them more horizontally will prevent the baby climb all over the screen n more place to roam in a limited cage space,place one more on top from the basking n uvb lights with the distance of 8 to 10 inches by measuring the temperature right under the basking spot ,so the veiled can have a safe basking place for helping with the digestion under the heat ,use a digital thermometer to determine the proper temperature reading.

Did u ever get the chance to dispute those sick chams they ship to u with ur choice of the payment??how did it go?hope the company will refund u or did some type of the reimbursement to u.
I agree.especially when the veiled gets older which rely on lots vegetable in their diet.
Also Mr camo this morning didn't act the way he usually does.. he normally starts showing his dark stripes and spots when I put my hand in the cage to mist or feed, this morning he didn't he actually looked more yellow than green. He has never seen him this color before. Help?

Veiled humidity requirement is in between 40-70 %
Things like humidifier or wrap around ur 3sides screen cage with clear food wraps will help to retain the humidity,auto mister and frequent misting will do the job too.
Now my question to u is ,what is the temperature on that spot he stand??have u test the temperature with the accurate digital thermometer gauge inside ur cage??
The spot he likes to sit is under the UVB light and it normally stays between 80-85. Last I measure it was at 83.
Ok and what is the temperature under his basking light(the heat light)?
Is he still the same color yellow today?any other behavior u notice?
Is he still drinking n eating?
What color is the poop?
