Interesting/Entertaining Radio Story About Hookworms

Howdy All,

While driving to the CHamEO Workshop yesterday, a re-broadcast of this entertaining story about Hooksworms was playing. The first part is about the bad side of hookworms and, believe it or not, the second story is the good side eek of hookworms. The total of both stories is about 25 minutes. Have fun listening!

I loved this! I was at my GF's sister's house.. my GF, her sister and brother in-law were in the other room and kept yelling out 'WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO!' hahaha

Maybe it's slow because everyone is trying to download it. To summarize it in one word.... GROSS! lol No seriously, it's interesting to learn why outhouses were invented. There are two stories in the segment.

the basics.... we need hookworms because we evolved with them.... This guy has bad allergies and finds out that hookworms might be the answer... he does research... no one sells them... so he goes to Africa and walks around in the dirt barefoot near where people defecate and contracts the hookworms through his feet (how most people would get them 'in nature' ) his allergies are gone.... he markets the worms and gets shut down by the FDA.....

it helps a couple of other symptoms as well

You would have thought they were invented because people realized the sight and smell of their own feces wasn't 'cool'

Renee kept asking me 'how do you regulate it?!' but... don't they sorta just self regulate if you are healthy?
