I have noticed that my female has been keeping one of her eyes closed alot, and it seems to be sunken in a little bit. What could this be from? What can I do to help her?

Thanks!

The other eye looks fine, it is open, active and attentive. It isnt sunken in at all.

OK...well...I have ran my cage set up past the people on here before, and everyone said it was good...but here's a quick overview. it is a screen cage with a glass back. It is a 18x18x18inch. It has 2 ficus plants and a pothos. It has a 5.0 UV bulb as well as a basking light. I currently hand spray the cage 3-4 times a day. I constant feed gutloaded crickets dusted in calcium as well as multivitamins. I also periodically treat her to wax worms, phoenix worms, super worms and wolly worms..all of which get dusted as well. The chameleon is a ambilobe panther female that is almost a year old. I have owned her almost the whole time. She has been very healthy, although she is always very timed and shy around me so I dont get to see her eat much.

OK....so I think that covers most everything.....let me know if u need any more info.

your cage is to small for a near year old, you need to upgrade to a larger all screen enclosure.

*do you have pics of the enclosure?

The cage seems to be plenty big for her..she is only 4inches from nose to vent....I dont think that the cage size is causing her eye issue. However, I will try and get some pictures of the enclosure up tomorrow morning.

...any ideas on her eye problem?

Hmm , how much do you dust? I heard of eye sicknesses when given too much supplements. Cases of overkilling with calcium suppl. and multivits. Im not sure, could you post an eyepic ?

I took these pics just now. I know they arent that good...but its the best I got. I cant seem to get a good pic of her eye. But you can see the enclosure and her size. her injured eye is the right one.
