Here are some pics of a cham a local pet shop of mines happen to get.
i know little to nothing of them so can anyone tell me any and everything they can based on these pics and should i consider getting it

Hello and welcome to the forum. The chameleon in the picture is a panther. I won't guess on much else. The cham is not set up well and if it is to healthy, it needs a better set up or out of the pet shop soon.

Very true on the set-up thats for sure
the guy couldnt even tell me what kind of cham it was which wasnt all a bad thing cause i found this site full of info.
from what your experience or anyones go for chams is that coloration normal? simplest colored cham ive seen on the net
he behaved healthy from what i witnessed and ate regularly

It looks dull in colour, and possibly underweight, possibly dehydrated, though the eyes and legs appear in good shape. If they have no background info on it, you may be better of buying elsewhere.
Given the terrible conditions its being kept in, I would have concerns about its health if its been kept like that very long.

He may be dull from the discomfort he's in, given his set-up. Also he may be cold, I don't see a heat light on there either. He could brighten up and be fine if he's taken into a proper set-up, but he might not. Although this one looks better than a lot others I've seen.

hes actually pretty heavy (at least thats what i thought).
and ive considered maybe its the lack of light and what im hoping is the case.
his stripe seems to be a deep purple would love to see him with full color before leaving the store with him.
Also i was told he is 2 years old. seemed to be the only info they had no hatch date but an approximation.

I hope you save him and give him the good life he deserves! I cannot believe the stupidity of some of these petshops! If you don't buy him I hope you can direct them in the right way to get him the proper lighting atleast.

I'd buy him. Although note you will have to also buy/build a 2x2x4 (doesnt have to be THAT size, but its the most common) a reptisun 5.0 linear bulb and fixture(you can get a fixture at walmart or home improvement store cheaper than the pet store), along with a dome light and probably a few wattages of incandescent house bulbs (they are around a dollar for 4).. a couple plants, a few vines.. supplements, food. A digital thermometer/hygrometer (you can get them at home improvement places and even walmart)

I'm just saying, I would buy him for that price. He is probably a good looking guy once he isnt super stressed/uncomfortable. None of us know for sure, but I would guess he is a nosy be..could very easily be wrong but either way. If you have the money and want him, snag him!

Yea that's not actually very bad. My pet store overprices their sick chameleons by a lot (and I mean SICK, there is one adult veiled that is just mangled from metabolic bone disease) and have them for sale at $4-500.

But for $150 I might take the risk as well. Superficially he looks OK, so it may not take too much to get him into shape. I have a feeling he definitely would brighten up for you under the right conditions. But right now he's probably cold and miserable, so he'll stay sort of dark and dull.

ya for 150 id give the cham a chance, he dosent look too bad imo and deserves a good home..
