Infertile eggs

I have a veiled chameleon that just laid about 30/40 infertile eggs last night. She has now buried them and is digging again. Is is getting ready to have more? How long do I keep the eggs with her? I have fed her, giving calcium and keeping her hydrated.

Leave her alone for another day -- she may not have layed her full clutch at her first try. Make an appointment with your vet today to have her x-rayed in the next week to make sure she was able to get them all out of her. Give her plenty of privacy today.

Is she digging downward or just kind of walk around on top of the nest?

It’s very common for inexperienced female keepers(no offense) to mistake her covering her nest well over the following days with trying dig a new hole.

A chameleon should lay all the eggs at one time. If shoes really digging again and not just filling in the hole and tsmping it down its quite possible she's having difficulty/may be egg bound. Were you watching her when she was digging etc?

Also 30 to 40 eggs is more than I like to see them lay. You may want to slow her down a bit.

What supplements do you use specifically and how often for each? What do you feed the insects? What UVB bulb do you use and do you change it as recommended?

As long as she's done laying the eggs and filling in the hole and staying up in the branches again you can dig up the eggs to see how many she laid.
