Infection...

So I spent the better part of today in the hospital. My leg keeps getting recurring infections. It is quite painful and several times it went all the way to sepsis and almost killed me. I was supposed to get surgery Tuesday to fix the underlying cause, but now that there is an infection raging, I am betting they cancel the surgery. Its always something...

Hope all goes well. I've had an infection in my leg a couple of times and it's no fun. Had to have an antibiotic pump that ran 24/7 for a week in order to stay out if the hospital. Good luck!

The first time it happened was June 2015. It turned into sepsis and I literally almost croaked. They did three surgeries in 2 weeks to save my leg. The damage was so bad i ended up getting a totall knee replacement. I have also had 3 more hospitalizations of 2-3 weeks since then and about a dozen ER visits. I'm so tired of this. I was supposed to have vascular surgery on my leg Tuesday in an attempt to fix the underlying cause of infections but they won't do it now. What a drag.

Im in the hospital again now. They are talking about admitting me and starting some courses of IV antibiotics.

They let me go home after a couple courses of IV antibiotics to "Jumpstart" the oral dosage. If it doesn't work, I have to go in again until they see improvement they are happy with.

Thanks for the positive support my friends. So far, no sign of improvement, but I do have these lovely painkillers now. As bad as that sounds at least it no longer feels like somebody is trying to remove my flesh with a rusty fruit peeler while it's on fire. I am guessing I end up in the hospital in two more days when these antibiotics are gone. Crazy high dosage though and it still isn't working which does concern me. I get 600 mgs clyndomyacin 3x daily. Average dose is 150 3x daily. Also clyndo is a fairly strong broad spectrum antibiotic. Its not like amoxicillin or the typically prescribed antibiotics. Let's hope it all works out.
