Inducing egg labor

Is there any way other than taking an animal to the vet to help start labor? I have a girl that was mated on 6/20 and has not laid her eggs. You can tell she has eggs in her but isn't responding to her laying bin.

Would putting her in a big bin in a dark room be helpful? My ladies have always laid without any problems.

I did a search and didn't find any posts on natural oxytoxin.

Naomi; Camille refused to use a small laying bin and my husband finally made her this big one out of a trash can and she went right to it. Here's the link. ...incase you didn't see it.

If she doesn't like that I would get her to the vet. They can give her a shot to start contractions. Jann

We will try that today. I have plenty of sand and big bins. Glad to see Camille is skinny and healthy.

Sometimes a dose of liquid calcium will help....but it depends on the timing...she still has to have the hormone levels to lay the eggs.
