Incubation methods: closet/shoebox method or incubator

Looking for input on vieled chameleon egg incubation. Is the closet shoebox method better then an incubator.

I wouldn't say better, but if your closet temps are stable it's just a cheaper method

I live in fl. Trying to figure if it would be better to do incubator since we are getting into the colder part of the year. Closet temps are stable now but when the weather cools down the ac goes off and I'm not sure about the temps then. Looking for cost affective but the best thing for the eggs.

Does anyone have any experience with the Hooverbaturs and do they have a lot of temp fluctuation?

Which is better vermiculite or hatch right for the incubation of the eggs?

I've always placed my eggs in a conatiner of vermiculite with a 1-1 water to vermiculite ratio (by weight) and placed in a closet where temps were between 72 and 78. Have never had any issues - its worked for the last 20 years.
