Inbreeding panther chameleons

Id like to gather information views of how the rest of the community feels on the subject. No company names are allowed to be stated if the feedback is negative as it might hurt their business. Please abide by all forum rules.

First I'd like to share my views and practices on breeding.
I am not in any way an expert on genetics. I never stated any affects, negative or positive from inbreeding/line breeding. I haven't inbred any animals to experience anything first hand. I'm on my very first clutch and in the process of growing them out now with no intent of pairing the two best looking clutch mates (brother and sister) in the future. I wont out breed one generation and then mate cousins either. My chameleons will not be climbing down the family tree to mate with their good looking relatives no matter how stunning they may be. I understand that establishing a captive bred colony with some specie you don't have the option to go the unrelated route. But if the availability of them in the US its very easy to avoid it. I found this article online and found it very helpful on the subject.

If you have any information on inbreeding/line breeding positive or negative or just want to share your view on the practice please do.

On a personal note, how would you feel if you came to find that the animals you breed or keep as a pet are inbred and sold to you under the assumption that they were from an unrelated pairing?

there have been a few very worthwhile threads in the Forum regarding this; i don’t have the links offhand but have read some fantastic information, much of it first-hand. i’ve never done it nor do i plan to, but the consensus that i recall was that close inbreeding will usually wind up with infertile eggs or poor-doers that die off quickly. linebreeding is certainly “safer” and sometimes even necessary, but i guess it just depends on how close they are to each other genetically.

regarding question #2, i would be pissed as $#!t!!! BOI at the least, heads rolling would be my preference!!

Thats what I had heard about inbreeding too, until there was a thread about a well known and respected breeder who apparently admitted to inbreeding at least one clutch (from a brother-sister pairing) to keep the colors/traits strong. The OP of the thread was thinking about buying them until they learned that the clutch was inbred. Then the thread was closed, so I didnt get to read all of it. I guess they were able to sucessfully do it at least once, though I suspect it was done much more because they have a closed breeding colony (or so I have been told at least.)
