Last Wednesday, Lloyd arrived at my doorstep.
He's named for wealthy, eccentric mycologist Curtis Gates Lloyd (biosketch here, pictures here, for those who want to know more about wealthy, eccentric mycologists [and who doesn't?]). I got him from Kent67 (thanks, Kent!), out of his purple-bar Ambanja pair, Sid and Nancy. He's four months old. I saw him eat and drink on the first day, his urates are as white as anybody could wish, and he shed the first night I had him (having given no hint at bedtime that he was planning such a rash and radical move).
I felt a bit guilty about yanking the poor guy out of San Diego to come to Michigan, where it was rainy and 50 degrees on his arrival, and into the thirties on Thursday, but yesterday we made it well into the sixites and had some sunshine, so I was able to get him outdoors for a little while. He clambered around on and in a potted plant on the deck, and was courteous enough to stick to the outer perimeter and the sunlight instead of disappearing deep within the foliage.
Here he is; enjoy!
(He's hiding in this picture; you can't see him.

Bask!
