I was just wondering if a chameleon does not like being held and sometimes puffs up and hisses will it always be like that? My Veiled Cham is 10 months and i just wanted to know if she will get used to it.

my 6 month veiled hisses and puffs up if i stick my hand in his cage but if i take him out hes tame as a puppy. he loves beging held and colors up quite nicely when i stroke his chin but the tricky part is getting him out!!

I dont believe any chameleon "loves" to be held..Even if they do not hiss, it does not mean that they are enjoying it.

I should clarify, there are some that like to be outside the cages. This still doesnt mean they like to be held though.

well when i take him out of his cage he changes his colors from a dull blue to a vibrand seafoam green and yellow. I belive he seems to enjoy it but i do respect your opinion.

Vibrant colors dont necessarily mean enjoyment. As you can see when a male sees another male, he will fire up. That is not a sign of enjoyment. Mellow colors, at least for my veileds, are of a brownish hue. These are the colors I find them in while they are undisturbed by any outside influence, such as myself. Any alteration in their comfort zone, such as me coming close, they will lighten up.
These are just my observations on my chameleons only.
