I have no idea what thing cost on your side of the pond, but that is a nice monitor. I know how big they can get but how fast do they grow?

Pretty fast at first, but I can't tell you exactly (not as fast as chams). He hasn't eaten anything at mine yet but the shop have fed him on a bit of just about everything. He should be eating about as much as a cham his size, and be almost entirely insectivorous for now. So much more active though, or maybe he spent as much time basking, but was so fast when he moved. Going to put some vids up on youtube over this long weekend I've got I think.........

nice monitor. ive got one right now about 24 inches. they will slow down believe me. watch the weight on these guys!

I had one before, I think I underfed due to fear of overfeeding tbh. Most in captivity seem to be overweight though, I reckon the key for this one is to keep him active and a lot of careful handling (he will at least keep me busy and not tinkering with the cham setup more than I need to)

Thank you, you too with yours mate. I'm planning on keeping everyone updated with pics. I've got a long weekend now so I'm possibly going to start a youtube channel since my friends let me down on the partying.....
