Maybe you could re-post it here. There seems to be a lot of questions on this thread that need answered. On your form did you list that you were using substrate?? It would have been made clear at exactly that point to remove it immediately. Please update the form and re-post it. Thanks.

Your Chameleon - veiled. About 4-6 months female. Ive had her 4 months. Handling - about a couple of times a week Feeding - crickets 5-10 I let her eat when shes hungry no specific time. Just started.gut loading with vegies Supplements - calcium. With d3.once or twice a month maybe longer because i have a uvb and calcium every day I wasn't aware of the d3 in the calcium I had to begin with so I had to buy different kind. Fluckersbrand Watering - i spray every day up to 3 maybe 4 times a day she drinks from her little dripper Fecal Description - brown and white poopoo just went to vet History - she been happy and healthy so far her eyes are big and look perfect shes strong and not very territorial at all

Cage Info: Cage Type - reptibreeze 18x 18x 24x screen cage Lighting - reptti glow 5.0 uvb . A basking light from zoo med. Not sure on watttage and a grow light for my plants lights go off at 7 and on at 7 Temperature - the coolest spot during the day is 75 then her basking is around 85 at night its 73 or 74 thermometer is in cage Humidity - around 75 % using a repti fogger humidity gage Plants - live and fake. With repti bsrk substrate Umbrella tree and I forgot the other name but I made sure it was ok for her Placement - shes on a desk about 4ft high is where the top reaches. No fans or ppl walking to stress her Location- corpus Christi. Texas Current Problem - respitory infection :/

Well, I am glad that you have come to the conclusion that it is something in your care that has caused your problems and not the pet store who sold you the chameleon 4 months ago. We all make mistakes, the important thing is that we learn from them and do not repeat them. I think with the reptifogger, the dripper, the mistings, the wet bark...it may have just been too much constant humidity going on in there to breed bacteria. I am not an expert by any means, but this is my assessment with the info you have provided. Like I said, you are not the first person on here to have a chameleon with a respiratory infection in a screen cage. Good luck with her and I hope she pulls through.

I'm a new cham owner. I've been hesitant to pipe in. Everyone has been so helpful to me. I know that no one is meaning to hurt your feelings or be mean. They're just trying to help your animal and are trying to get you to give them the proper info. about your chameleon setup and routine in order to help. Every detail has to be given. Chameleons are a pretty expensive animal to keep up with. I had to save for a few months in order to provide all of the essentials for my cham. I researched how to properly care for chameleons for months, also. This forum has helped me immensely. I never thought for one moment that someone was ganging up on me or being mean when they were pointing something out that I may be doing wrong. I welcome it! I want to do everything possible to ensure my animal's health. Did your vet ask you any of the questions that the people on this forum are asking you about your setup and routine? If so, and you were honest, maybe you should go to another vet next time. Substrate is a big no, no! An experienced Herp Vet would have told you that right away. Once again, I'm a new cham owner. I'm by no means an expert. I'm still learning. I do know that these people have huge hearts and know what they're talking about when it comes to chameleons. Welcome the constructive criticism. I hope that your buddy recovers. Maybe you should hold off on getting another chameleon. I know that if I had a sick animal, I'd be too upset and busy rehabilitating it to care for another.

Your Chameleon - Veiled
Handling - Handling seems fine
Feeding - As many as she can eat in 5-10 minutes, but be sure to take them out before lights out or they can disturb her. As for gutloading I would recommend repashy bug burger, fresh fruits and veggies every day, I also give mine cheerios or crackers. Sandrachameleon has a great blog on gutloading, however I don't know how to post it, maybe someone else knows how, that would be helpful.
Supplements - Calcium w/o D3 every feeding, I recommend ReptiCal. Multivite 2x per month, Calcium w/ D3 1x per month.
Watering - 3-4x daily for 3-5 minutes. Allow time for the cage to completely dry between mistings and before bedtime
Fecal Description - Seems fine. Did they test for parasites??

Cage Info: Cage Type - Good.
Lighting - Good.
Temperature -Are you sure of the night time temps?? Temp range should be 85 at basking with ambient temps of 80-75, so you're good there. However there needs to be a drop in temps at night, around 65.
Humidity -Are you sure of your humidity? What kind of gauge are you using? If it is one of those dial ones it is not accurate, I speak from experience, digital is better. If it is accurate then your humidity is fine.
Plants - As we addressed before, the substrate needs to be removed and replaced with either newspaper or paper towel. I believe you said that it was a money tree?? and the umbrella tree. I think those are fine, as long as they were on the safe plant list.
Placement - If I am understanding correctly, you have her cage 2 feet from the ground, in a low traffic area with no fans. However, is there a vent anywhere near her?? Other than that, placement seems good.
Location- corpus Christi. Texas Current
Problem - I would suggest cutting back on the fogger and keeping her cage a bit more dry until she nips this RI in the butt. Keeping her cage too humid will make it difficult to beat the RI. If you still can't get her to eat, I recommend either reptiaid or baby food fruits and veggies. If you do the baby food though, make sure it is on the safe veggie/ fruit list. I used baby squash and sweet potato with my sick baby and he seemed to like it because it was sweet. Stay away from baby food that has meat in it, there are plenty of fruit and veggie foods that are high in protein and easier to digest.

Glad it finally looks like everything is getting on the right tract. You may want to upload your pics to a site like photobucket and, it will be easier to add them from there to your post. Bigger pics too. Just make sure she gets the meds and the right amount of fluids. You may end up needing to look up how to force feed as a last resort. Her being sick she needs the fluids and nutrition.
Just a reminder. Feed her early in the day so she has 4-6 hours to bask. She needs to bask to digest.
