I just ordered 500 hornworm eggs from mulberry farms, and the chow to go with them...
I think Ive done lost my mind.

Actually, I think Kink took over my brain as he is in love with hornworms. Fortunately, he still eats his crickets, which is good cuz he needs more supplementing to deal with is slight tongue issue.

Lol, nice.

How long do they take to hatch and grow?

From what Ive heard, they will hatch within a few days if I keep the temps a bit warm. And if they grow anything like my last hornworms i bought (whcih were already an inch long when I got them) im guessing within a week they will be almost too big for my hoe to eat. But the ones I dont feed off to the chams as worms, can become moths!

Thats awesome!

Wow, 500 worms for 2 chams? Maybe you went just slightly overboard ;).

Hehe, well I gave Kink one everyday when i had a batch of 25. and Kermit got 3 (but then they got too big) I want to turn some into moths, and see if i can maybe breed them. Besides, Mullberry farms had a special, I could pay 30 bucks for 500 worms, which is much cheaper than just buying 25 worms.

Ive had my hornworms for about a month now and keep them at 55 degrees and they have barely grown at all, I can't even really see a difference in size

Haha. well I can breed them, grow them into moths, etc. Besides when each cham eats one worm a day... etc. it adds up, but this way I can make moths and such.
Its no different than buyuing alo tof roaches or crickets for a breeder colony.
