so a friend and i got into a discussion about pets. she said she prefers a dog and cat over other pets because they show a sense of ownership and return love and compassion to their owner. she asked "does your chameleon or snakes do that?" i know snakes lack the nerve in the brain to love and have the sense of ownership. (i forget what its called exactly) but is that just snakes or all reptiles? my chameleon seems to be more content to come out of his cage than most chameleons i hear about. however once out of the cage he prefers to be held by me or a specific friend, rather than a friend he seems from time to time. when the specific friend holds him hes content, however when another person besides me or the friend holds him he seems to be reaching for us the whole time. i do need to mention when the specific friend holds him, he seems to stay close to me and not go to the hand far from me. would you say that is a sense of ownership/love/compassion? or just being familar with what he knows vs a stranger?
