Hi all, i am new to the forum so 'Hello'

I have owned a few chams before but i had to rehome due to circumstances.

Basically i've just brought a female panther, i don't think i got her from a knowledgeable home but after seeing her i felt i had to take her anyway and try and help her. I'm not sure i can though i think it may be MBD? Parts of her mouth are caved in, soft jaw?

Also the top bit of the crest on her head is also a bit deformed and doesn't run down her head?

Oppinions please?

Please check the following pictures.

Hi Lee. She does not appear to have mbd. Her limbs look good. She could have a little mouth issue going on. Can you get her to open her mouth and look inside? It could be the start of mouth rot or stomatitis as it is called. Sometimes their mouths can get a little dry or maybe even skin that did not shed properly. Try getting a look at the inside of her mouth.

Thanks for your quick response, i have only seen the inside of her mouth briefly when feeding, inside looks ok from what i can see. Just a bit worried about why parts of her mouth have sunk. She doesn't seem to be very active around her enclosure or anything but she is feeding well.

Hi again! I was looking at her mouth before from my phone so I could not get the picture as large and detailed as I can now. I still am not convinced that is mouth rot. Almost looks like she had some type of injury and it healed like that with a little piece of her lip missing. The insides of their mouths can tell a lot about them and should be checked on a regular basis. Just keep an eye on it and if it continues to worsen I would get her to a vet. If you think the inside of her mouth looks ok(not black, bloody, pus, growths, etc) then I would just leave it be for now. It wouldn't hurt to have her checked out (by a vet that knows chameleons) just to confirm it is nothing that will get worse.
